Should You Run From Jesus Always?

2 Corinthians 2:14

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

In this verse Paul is saying that "God always leads us in triumph in Christ."

Who is in control? God.

So do we need to worry about anything? No. God is there. He is in charge. He will lead us in triumph in Christ through whatever comes ourt way... except it's no "whatever." He controls what comes our way. Always. He will always lead us... and it will always be in triumph.

What was the worst thing that happened to Israel? Probably the Babylonian captivity. They were defeated militarily three times, and in the end just about the entire Jewish population was deported. It was the end of the Jewish nation. Can we say that this was God leading them in triumph?

Yes, of course. It was part of God's plan, and He even told them about it many times. Was God glorified in the Babylonia captivity? Yes, in many ways. Takew a moment and think about yourself. In what ways was God glorified by the Babylonia captivity?

Okay, okay, I can't hold back. I have to mention my favorite. God is glorified by Daniel. What an example Daniel is for us. A Godly man serving the captors of the Jewish nation. He even chose death instead to varying his prayers to God... and God was glorified... and God saved Daniel. So there is one example. I'll leave it to you to come up with 11 more, so you'll have a total of at least 12.

Matthew 6:26-34

For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?

And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?

And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these!

If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you—you of little faith?

Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?

For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
